PHS awards four Heritage Microfilming Grants

December 15, 2013
First Presbyterian Church (Romulus, N.Y.), 1934. From RG 428, Postcard collection.

The Presbyterian Historical Society is pleased to award 2013 Heritage Microfilming Grants to four PC(USA) congregations:

•Romulus Presbyterian Church (Romulus, N.Y.), founded in 1796

•First Presbyterian Church (Brighton, Colo.), founded in 1885

•First Presbyterian Church (Rushford, Minn.), founded in 1893

•Calvary Presbyterian Church (Alexandria, Va.), founded in 1948

Sustained this year by donations to our Annual Fund, the Heritage Microfilming Grants were established in 2001 in celebration of PHS's 150th anniversary. The $500.00 grants will cover most or all of the cost of microfilming and digitizing the four congregations’ vital records including session minutes and church registers. We'd like to thank all the congregations who applied. If your congregation is older than fifty years, and has fewer than 250 members, you can apply for the 2014 grant cycle. The deadline is October 31, every year.

To donate and be a part of our efforts to help churches in need, please send a check made payable to the Presbyterian Historical Society to 425 Lombard Street, Philadelphia, PA 19147. You may also give safely and securely on our website.
