Local Church History Seminar Scholarship Local Church History Seminar | Workshop Descriptions Registration Form | Seminar Schedule | Housing Form Registration and housing forms require the free downloadable Adobe Acrobat reader. A scholarship award from the Presbyterian Historical Society is available to assist a congregation in sending a representative to the Local Church History Seminar. This scholarship covers the Seminar fee and housing. To be eligible, your congregation must meet the following criteria: Consist of no more than 250 members Be at least 50 years old Have a need for training to write a history and organize its records and/or organize an anniversary celebration that involves writing a history and mounting exhibits. To be considered for the scholarship, submit an essay along with the Seminar Registration form. (There is no separate application form for the scholarship.) The essay should describe the congregation's need to preserve its records and any upcoming events related to preserving or celebrating the congregation's heritage. A copy of the congregation's most recent annual budget and description of the church's financial need must also be submitted. Applications are due by August 29, 2008 and should be sent to: Local Church History Seminar Scholarships Presbyterian Historical Society 425 Lombard Street Philadelphia, PA 19147 Applications will be reviewed by the society's advisory committee and staff members, and recipients will be notified by September 19, 2008.
