Archives Assistant

Full-time position, 35 hrs. week, with excellent benefits.

Duties: Retrieve materials; photocopy materials for patrons and staff; use catalogs, indexes, and databases to conduct basic research; draft written responses to reference requests; maintain reference files; and assist patrons in-person and on the phone.

Requirements: One to three years work experience in customer service or a library environment; basic word processing and database skills; ability to lift 40 pound boxes; good communications skills; high school graduate. BA or course work towards a BA preferred.

The Presbyterian Historical Society is the national archives of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) and its primary historical research center. Its mission is to collect, preserve, and share the story of the American Presbyterian experience with Presbyterians, the scholarly community, and the general public.
