Kate Alexander Hill was born 4 february 1873, and attended Amity College and Moody Bible Institute. She was appointed as a career missionary under the Women's Board of the United Presbyterian Church of North America in 1896. An evangelist and adminsitrator, she served in Lyallpur, Sangla Hill, Sargodha and Sialkot Districts in India. From 1927 to 1932 she was superintendent of Mary B. Reid Hospital, and from 1933 to her retirement in 1943, she was superintendent of Sialkot Memorial Hospital. She died 9 April 1960 in Eldorado, Iowa.
This collection consists primarily of Miss Hill's correspondence 1896-1942 and a collection of scrapbooks kept by her during her missionary career.
SERIES 1: CORRESPONDENCE/MISCELLANEOUS ITEMS, 1896-1942This series contains Miss Hill's inbound and outbound correspondence, 1896-1942. Also included are field and furlough photographs and miscellaneous poems, speeches and plays presumably written by Miss Hill.SERIES 2: SCRAPBOOKS, 1896-1942This series contains scrapbooks, daybooks and notebooks depicting Miss Hill's journey through Egypt and other activities relating to her missionary work.
