Biographical Note / Administrative History
Bert J. Bingle was born in Girton, Ohio. He attended North Central College and Evangelical Theological Seminary, graduating in 1923. He married Mabel Morrison in 1923.
In 1928 Bingle was called to the First Church of Cordova, Alaska. The Bingles spent the rest of their careers in Alaska. Bingle traveled extensively over its vast territory as a Sunday School and Mobile Minister for the Board of National Missions.
In 1941 Bingle was transferred to the War Service Unit of the BNM. During the war years, he was an itinerant missionary to various army and civilian construction crews throughout Alaska. He continued to specialize in this "highway ministry" throughout his career.
