The Presbyterian Historical Society is pleased to award Heritage Preservation Grants to four PC(USA) congregations. The records to be preserved come from two former congregations of the PCUS, a 19th-century church west of the Mississippi, and a New Deal planned community in Appalachia. The winners are:

• Fairfield Presbyterian Church (Sandy Lake, Pa.), organized in 1831.
• Presbyterian Church (Floyd, Va.), organized in 1853.
• First Presbyterian Church (Belton, Tex.), organized in 1860.
• Community Presbyterian Church (Arthurdale, W. Va.), organized 1957.

The Heritage Preservation Grants were established in 2001 in celebration of PHS's 150th anniversary. Sustained this year by donations to our annual fund, and by a gift from Westminster Presbyterian Church (Minneapolis, Minn.), each in-kind grant of $500 will cover much of the cost of digitizing a congregation's session minutes and church registers. We'd like to thank all the congregations who applied. If your congregation is older than fifty years, and has fewer than 250 members, you can apply for the 2016 grant cycle. The deadline is October 31, every year.
