Come to the Presbyterian Historical Society for a one-night-only display of temperance-related items from the PHS collections.

From the early nineteenth century until well past the end of Prohibition, Presbyterians and their Protestant allies employed a wide range of images and tactics to support the temperance cause. View tracts, posters, and songbooks that trace over 150 years of history--from the fatal effects of “ardent spirits” to the menacing “whiskey dragon” and finally the more benign “Ethyl” pamphlets of the 1950s.

Whether you’re a wet or a dry, we’ll have food, drink, and conversation to mix with the history. Behind-the-scenes tours will also be available.
