What is your role at PHS? What do you do from day-to-day?

I am the PHS executive director.  I spend a lot of my time attending meetings and talking with staff, Board members, OGA colleagues, and other collaborators—both within and outside the PC(USA).  Good, two-way communication is key to everything with do.  I also directly support our development program and The Journal of Presbyterian History, and I guide decisions about our building, financial matters, and other operations.

We are happy to welcome Matty Marrow to the Presbyterian Historical Society as our new BKBB Archives Intern.

Matty recently graduated from Community College of Philadelphia with an Associates degree in English and is currently enrolled as a History major at Pennsylvania State University. Matty enjoys studying African American and Pan-African history and is interested in increasing the accessibility of history of--and the teaching to--underrepresented groups and cultures. Organized in 1852, the Presbyterian Historical Society is the oldest denominational archives in the United States and serves as the national archives for the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) and its predecessor denominations.
