On May 12, the Presbyterian Historical Society (PHS) looked back at previous General Assemblies that have impacted the direction of the church. This discussion was led by Lisa Jacobson, Senior Reference Archivist, and David Staniunas, Records Archivist.

On April 27, PHS hosted a roundtable discussion about the Community School of Tehran. The session was led by Matthew Shannon, Associate Professor of History at Emory & Henry College and Principal Investigator of the Community School Oral History Project.

The Community School of Tehran was a Presbyterian Mission institution whose internationalist ethos influenced multiple generations of English-speaking students between 1935 and 1980.

PHS holds over 60,000 Religious News Service photographs depicting domestic and international religious news between 1945 and 1982. Through a digitization pilot project funded by a National Endowment for the Humanities Reference and Resources grant, we added almost 500 RNS images to Pearl, the Society’s publicly accessible digital archives. Click here to see the images.
