New Director of Development

Big Tent 2017

PHS staff members joined Presbyterians and other PC(USA) employees from around the country at this summer's Big Tent gathering. As with the 2015 Big Tent in Knoxville, TN, this year's teaching, preaching, and dining hall eating took place on a leafy college campus--Washington University in St. Louis, MO.

New In-House Exhibit

The Presbyterian Historical Society is pleased to announce the opening of “Presbyterians and the American Revolution,” an in-house exhibit at 425 Lombard Street in Philadelphia.

The new exhibit features sixty items from the Revolutionary War, its build-up, and aftermath. Original manuscripts, rare publications, digitized images, and evocative artifacts fill the PHS lobby. A related hallway display remembers Presbyterian celebrations of the centennial and bicentennial.

Each new year brings us forward in time. 2017 also takes us back.

The calendar for the next twelve months presents an impressive number of historic celebrations and significant remembrances closely linked to Presbyterianism in America and around the world. At PHS we’ll be connecting these commemorations to the Society’s service ministry using our 2017 theme: Celebrate, Remember, Share.[1]

PHS is seeking a Director of Development to be responsible for PHS’ entire development effort and the execution of annual fundraising plan; to strengthen the Society’s ability to raise major and planned gifts through formalized processes of prospect research, cultivation, and stewardship; to supervise the Development Associate, who handles the annual appeal and membership programs; and to partner with the Director of Communications and Marketing to produce an integrated message to all audiences with the goal of raising awareness as well as increased financial support for PHS....
